Met52 is an exciting new biocontrol product - a contact bioinsecticide utilizing a pathogenic fungus called Metarhizium anisopliae to control thrips mites, whiteflies and vine weevils in greenhouse ornamentals, protected vegetables and outdoor fruits and vegetables. Met52 is a contact bio-insecticide with no chemical residue and little potential for resistance that is capable of controlling several insect pests.
Metarhizium anisopliae is a naturally occurring fungus found in soils worldwide. Metarhizium spores germinate on the insect surface and hyphae invade and kill susceptible insects.
